Barbara Evans

Mrs. Barbara Sue Collins Evans, age 83, of Tallapoosa, GA passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on February 4, 2026. She was born March 21, 1942 in Haralson County, GA to the late Jim Collins and Ruth McCollum Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Evans and her brothers and sisters in law, Floyd and Emogene Collins, Gene Collins, Burl and Rosie Collins, and Bobby Collins.

In her early years, Barbara worked at the local sewing plant, Darcy's, and others in the area. She had many friends from these years. Later in life, she worked at Stoffel Seals and she would eventually retire from there. She made many more friends here, that lasted even after her retirement.

Barbara was also a great cook. She was especially known for her biscuits and it was a treat for her family and friends to eat with her. She also enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the wildlife.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Denise and Hovie Roberts and Joel and Nikki Evans, all of Tallapoosa; grandchildren and their spouses, Carmen and Joseph Halstead and Cody and Sarah Evans; great grandchildren, Brianna Halstead, Cayson, Gracelyn, Reyden, and Royce Evans; brother in law, PeeWee Evans, of Buchanan, GA; and sister in law, Margaret Collins, of Tallapoosa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Dakota Evans and Rev. Randy Robinson officiating. Members of the Steadman Baptist Church Choir will provide music. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Keith Williams, Phillip Wade, Christian Evans, Dakota Evans, Tim Collins, Lamar Roberts, Reid Kennedy, Russell Dean. Interment will follow in Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00PM.
