Ms. Sonya Leigh Stone, age 43, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away January 31, 2026 at Emory University Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born February 26, 1982 in Carrollton, GA to her parents, Jeff and Sue Hetling Stone.

Sonya was an avid Alabama fan. She was a loving person, showing what unconditional love was to her friends and family. Her friends often described her as a "light in the dark," who made others feel heard and left a lasting impact on their life.

Sonya is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Gracie Stone and Drake Lines, of Heflin, AL and Crimson and Anderson Sloan, of Snead, AL; son and daughter in law, Josh and Maci Holland, of Carrollton, GA; granddaughter, Kaisley Holland; parents, Jeff and Sue Stone, of Muscadine, AL; brother and sister in law, Zachary and Kim Stone, of Anniston, AL; nephew and niece, Jackson Stone and Lela Stone; and grandmother, Joyce Stone, of Muscadine, AL.

Sonya is preceded in death by her son, Jakob Stone and grandparents, Jackson Stone, Judy Hetling, and Ronald Hetling.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 2:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Randy Robinson and Rev. James Owens officiating. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Stone, Jesset Stone, Eddie Hetling, Drake Lines, Scott Archer, and Josh Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Davis and Jackson Stone. Interment will follow in Steadman Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 12:00 to 2:00PM.
