James Houston Farley, age 92, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026.

James was the beloved husband of the late Ruby Farley. He was the loving son of the late General and Daisy Farley. He was also preceded in death by his dear son, Donald Farley; his stepson, Gary Miller; and his cherished siblings: Opal Pryor, J.W. Farley, Irene Farley, Carl Farley, and Treva Schipper.

James dedicated many years of hard work to General Motors, where he was a proud and dependable employee. Outside of work, he had a true passion for gardening. He especially loved tending to his vegetable garden and was well known for growing the largest vegetables. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his three sons: Roy (Sharon) Farley, Robert Farley, and Chuck (Christine) Farley; his sister, Patty Fannon of Tipp City; and his stepchildren: Bill Miller (Linda), Robert Miller (Phyllis), Pam Taylor (Bill), and Mike Miller (Michele). He held each of them close to his heart. James was a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren: Ann Marie Smith; Becca "Robin" Locker (Khris); Angie Robinson (Mark); Beth Gowins (Mike); Joann Cockerham (Scott); Amy Sloneker (Scott); Bill Miller (Maureen); Katie Back (Joe); Missy Halcomb (Eric); Matt Taylor; James "Boomer" Miller; Chris Taylor; Kara Judd (Jason); Corrie Holm (Jon); Jessica Perry (Blair); and Cassidy Bell (John). His legacy continues through 32 great-grandchildren and 41 great-great-grandchildren, with two more precious blessings on the way. He also leaves behind numerous special friends who will miss his stories, his kindness, and his warm presence. James will be remembered for his deep love of family, his strong work ethic, his remarkable garden, and the pride he took in watching his family grow through the generations. His life was a testament to devotion, resilience, and the enduring strength of family bonds. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Family and friends may visit Monday, February 23, 2026, from 10:30 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon at Baker-Stevens-Parramore, Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45005. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
