Richard D. Owsley, age 71, of Franklin, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026. He was born April 10, 1954, in Middletown to Harold and Nancy (Hedger) Owsley.

Richard retired from AK Steel after many dedicated years of service. He was a longtime and proud member of Moose Lodge #501, where he earned his Pilgrimage Degree, a distinction he held with great honor. Through the Lodge, he formed many lifelong friendships and was considered family by many.

An avid pool player, car and motorcycle enthusiast, Richard found joy on the open road and under the hood of an engine. Whether attending shows, riding with friends, or working on a project, he was happiest when surrounded by the rumble of an engine and good company. Known for his kind heart and generous spirit, Richard was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His warmth, loyalty, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara Owsley; his daughter, Julie (Chad) Klehamer; his son, Danny (Aimee) Owsley; his cherished granddaughter, Raegan Owsley; his extended family at Moose Lodge #501; and his many motorcycle friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Owsley; and his parents, Harold and Nancy Owsley.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave., Middletown, Ohio 45005. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Springboro Cemetery. All motorcycles are welcome for the procession.
