James Earl Faske passed away peacefully due to natural causes on January 23, 2024 in
Jensen Beach, Florida. Born on August 7, 1932 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. James lived a life characterized by his love of family and service to others and to his country.
James is predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara Ellen McKinley Faske, father Arthur William Faske, mother Ada Emaline Faske, and two brothers, Carl Faske and Wilford Faske.
James' early years were spent in Virginia Beach and then Borden, Indiana where he developed a strong work ethic, helping his father and brothers build houses and cabinets as a carpenter. His dedication to his country was evident when he enlisted in the Air Force, where he proudly served for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His military career including serving in the Korean War and Vietnam War. His carpenter skills were utilized in various civil engineering assignments, including writing instructional manuals.
After his distinguished military career, James embraced his love for agriculture by pursuing an AA in agriculture followed by an AA in business, laying the groundwork for his next venture. James and Barbara founded the Faske Farm, a citrus grove spread over 10 acres. James took pride in growing trees from seeds and grafting them to produce other varieties of citrus. He and Barbara sold the trees and fruit from their home on Kitterman Road in Port St. Lucie.
A man of many interests, James had an adventurous spirit which led him to earn a private pilot's license. In later years he enjoyed flying remote control airplanes some of which he built. His interests quickly turned to the stock market delving into the financial market with great enthusiasm.
James' legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his children: David Faske, Anita Faske Iserman (Art), and Arthur Faske (Terri). His joy was multiplied through his cherished grandchildren: Jacob Faske (Amber), Joseph Eassa (Sheila), Benjamin Eassa (Melissa), James Faske (Becky), Kate Macpherson, and Allison Faske Mittag (Bryan). He treasured his family above all else and especially relished the time he spent with his great grandchildren, Isaac Faske, Judah Faske, Noah Faske, Joy Faske, McKinley Mittag, Hayden Eassa, Jackson Eassa, Hudson Eassa, Juliana Eassa, and Grady Macpherson.
James is also survived by loving siblings, Raymond Faske, Mary Kreilein, and Ann Banet all of Indiana. Also surviving James is his companion of many years Doris Fruscella, her children and grandchildren who brought him much joy throughout his later years.
Those who knew James remember him as a loving and generous soul, always ready to lend a hand with his remarkable array of skills. His hands, once adept at crafting wood or repairing complex machinery, were just as gentle when cradling his grandchildren or teaching them how to drive a tractor as they grew older.
James Earl Faske lived a life of meaningful connections, whether through his commitment to his country and to God, or the love he showered upon his extensive family. The void left by his passing is felt profoundly, and he will be remembered fondly through the many memories he made with all he met and loved.
