James "Jim" Edward Fellwock, Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Commerce Township, Michigan. Born on February 25, 1936, in Washington, Indiana, Jim's life was marked by devotion-to his work, to his family, and to the values he held dear.

On November 19, 1955, he married his childhood sweetheart in Detroit, Michigan, beginning a partnership that would anchor a growing and loving family. A master electrician by trade and by passion, Jim was a proud 55-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 58. In 1992, he took a leap of faith and founded J's Electric alongside his son James Jr., turning years of experience into a successful family business. Known for his skill and ingenuity, Jim could fix anything with a wire or a plug-and usually with a bit of elbow grease and a wry smile. His work ethic was matched only by his sense of humor and the unmistakable twinkle in his eye when solving a problem.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jeri; he was the proud father of James Jr. (Tina), Jon (Kathy), and Judy (Eric). He was preceded in death by his beloved son Jeffrey. His legacy lives on through his 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren-with one more on the way-each of whom knew him lovingly as "Papa." He carried dollar bills in his pocket just to see their faces light up with joy.

Outside of work and family life, Jim found happiness in simple pleasures. He loved nice cars and spent countless hours tinkering in his garage-a place where tools met stories and memories were made. He had an adventurous spirit when it came to travel but was perhaps happiest at home in his recliner watching golf or cheering (and complaining) about the Detroit Tigers with equal enthusiasm. Known for being famously a little crabby yet always good-natured at heart, Jim embodied the role of patriarch with quiet strength and unwavering dedication. His gruff exterior belied a deep love for those around him-a love expressed through action more than words: fixing what was broken, showing up when it mattered most, and always making sure everyone had what they needed.

Jim's presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered-for the spark he brought into every room (and every electrical panel), for the laughter he inspired even while grumbling from his chair, and for the enduring love he gave to those lucky enough to call him family. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined.
