James F. Fine Jr., a member of the Cherryvale community, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Cherryvale, Kansas, at the age of 65.
He was born on March 2, 1960, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of James Floyd Fine Sr. and Janice Earlene Norton
Throughout his life, James made significant contributions to his community and industry. He had a diverse career that included positions at Independence Bottling, Prestige Cabinets, and Vallis Wingroff, as well as a ranch and farm hand. James was not only dedicated to his work but also found joy in volunteering with the Cherryvale Fire Department and proudly served as a member of the Cherryvale FFA.
James was a true Cherryvale legend, who never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many in the area. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed making lures, as well as crafting rings from deer antlers—hobbies that he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his loving children, Rebecca (Kevin) Baker, Austin (Jamie) Fine, Alyssia Manning, and Eric Tippen. James also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Shelby and Kylie Baker, Landon Miller, and Whitney and Blake Fine. His siblings, Terry Fine, Thomas Beaudry and former wife Tenise Fine.
James is preceded in death by his former wife, Pamela Napier, and his parents, James Floyd Fine Sr. and Janice Earlene Norton, and sister Virginia Beaudry. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and interests but also for the profound love he had for his family.
Memorial remembrances can be made to Cherryvale FFA or Cherryvale Fire Department and can be dropped off or mailed to the funeral home.
Celebration of Life remembrance will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, May 9, 2025, at Wickham Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
