James Challen Fishwick Jr., 85 of Wallingford, PA passed away on March 5, 2024 after a brave fight with cancer. Jim's life was a gift to those who knew him and loved him. His sense of optimism and enthusiastic spirit touched anyone he interacted with.
Jim was born in Albany, NY to James Challen Fishwick Sr. and Lucy (Donaldson) Fishwick. He spent parts of his life in Bogota, Columbia, Oaklyn, NJ, Aston, PA and most recently in Wallingford, PA. He worked for many years in the medical insurance industry in various capacities.
Jim's personal life was marked most deeply by the love for his wife of 48 years, Amelia (DiStefano) Fishwick. His devotion to Amelia was apparent to all who knew him. Their love for Sea Isle City and their trip of a lifetime to Europe were just some of the beautiful adventures they shared together. Their dedication to each other was never more evident than in Jim's final days.
In addition to Amelia, Jim is survived by his children James Fishwick III (Cynda), Jon Fishwick, Jennifer Fishwick, Amanda Lawson (Christopher) and Emily Glowacki (Christopher). Jim is also survived by his grandchildren Stephanie, Kayleigh, Nicholas, Nathan, Emma, Cecilia, Sloane, step grandchild Emily and several great grandchildren. Jim also leaves behind his sister Judy Hawks (Mark), brother Thomas Fishwick (Debbie), sister-in-law Vinnie Pagnini and many nieces and nephews.
Jim found a deep joy later in his life for watercolor painting. He loved to paint birds, plants, flowers and nature scenes. He proudly framed and hung his artwork and gave them as gifts. In addition to his art, Jim loved to fish with his best friend Jim Mair, enjoy the beach in Sea Isle City, cheer on his grandchildren in their athletic endeavors and he never missed an Eagles or a Phillies game. His friendship and lunches with the Oaklyn boys brought him great joy as well. He was the first to arrive and often the last to leave any event. He was the life of the party and the life of his family. His infectious spirit will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family and honor Jim's life at The Towne House in Media, PA on Wednesday March 13th. Visitation with the family will be from 11 am - 12 pm followed by a celebration of life service. Interment Private.

It is of great sorrow that I have heard of Jamie's passing. I remember well the time spent in Warren, Pennsylvania with the fishwicks during the summer with Annie.
