Jim (James E.) Fitzgibbons reposed in the Lord Monday Morning September 22nd 2025 after a long illness. He was surrounded by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia and a daughter Marion.

He is survived by his friend and companion Kathleen Rausch, brother Keith (Jenny) Fitzgibbons and sister Donna (Bob) Golchert, uncle Dale (Sally) Fitzgibbons, and his children; Regina (Jack) Robertson, Florence (Richard) Schuchard, Victoria Boucher, Norman (Ofelia) Baith and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews.

Jim served twenty-three years in the "World's Finest Navy," retiring as a Senior Chief Sonar Technician (Surface Warfare). He earned numerous awards including the Navy Accommodation and Navy Achievement Medals.

Jim was a member of the Fleet Reserve, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. He served in the Knights of Columbus for many years as a Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and District Warden.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Byzantine Catholic Church, serving as Trustee and Maintenance Supervisor.

Jim lived a life of service to God, the Church his Country and Family.

With firm trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he believed in the Love and Mercy of God and in the Resurrection.

The family will receive friends from 5pn till 7pm, Friday, Sept. 26, 2025 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A funeral service will follow promptly at 7pm. Fond memories may be shared with the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
