James Flanders Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 17, 2025.
FLANDERS, JAMES L. of White Lake; September 17, 2025; age 86; Beloved wife of Karren McCallum Flanders; Dear father of Melissa (Ken) Harris, Mick (Lori) Flanders, Nathan (Ellen) Flanders, and step-father of Chris McCallum, Carmen (David) Calkin, Gerry (Theresa) McCallum, Garry (Laurie) McCallum and John (Buddah) Parlette; Brother of the late Richard Flanders; Also cherished by seventeen grandchildren. Jim retired from the Aflcio in Lansing . He was a strong supporter of the American work force, he was a firm believer in American Made. Jim loved to work at the Democratic conventions in Detroit where he did a lot of networking. Jim could barter and trade with the best of them. He was a "Jim" of all trades, if you needed it done he would do it or figure out a way. A hardworking man his whole life. When Jim wasn't working he was in the woods hunting or out on the lake fishing. His favorite name for himself was Mr. Wonderful, he loved the attention it got him, especially with the ladies. Jim was able to build his dream home and retire there happily for many years. Jim leaves behind a decades long friendship that he cherished with Jim. It was Karren that filled the void and love in his retirement and he longed for. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at the Independence Village, 935 Union Lake Road, White Lake.
