James Edward Floyd, Sr. was born to Clarence and Dora Floyd in Marks, MS on December 8th, 1942.
James was a man whose love for his family shaped every part of his life, he was the heart of our family. He was never happier than when surrounded by his family, sharing a meal, listening to music, telling stories and catching up on life. He had a gift for building things and could fix anything. James was kind, gentle and so generous. His heart was big and full of love, his family and friends knew he was always just a call away.
All who knew James experienced his warmth, kindness and quiet strength. He touched lives simply by being James. James leaves behind the beautiful gift of love, generosity and a lifetime of memories to hold in our hearts forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife: Martha "Jerry" Floyd, and four siblings: Donald Floyd, Keith Belue, Sheron Floyd, and Brenda Floyd.
Left behind to cherish his memory are four children: James Floyd, Jr. (Mona) of Delray Beach, FL, Wendy Cormier (Kevin) of Orange, TX, Jeff Floyd of Tampa, FL, and Eric Floyd (Candice) also of Tampa, as well as a sister: Jeannie Scherer (Jerry), three grandchildren: Brandon Nicholson (Jane), James Floyd, III, and Martha Mayson Floyd, and one great grandchild: Dixie Drew Nicholson.
We were blessed to call him Dad, PaPa,Brother, Uncle and Friend, Rest in Peace.
