James Pardridge Ford

Jim Ford passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 after a prolonged illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and George Ford, and his brothers John, Don, and Tom. He is survived by his children, Denise Williams (Dorn Williams) and Robert Ford, and his stepdaughter Allison Quinlan (Patrick Quinlan,) as well as grandchildren Adina Williams (Hagen Blix,) Evan Williams, and Spencer Quinlan. He is survived by his siblings Bill (George) Ford, Nancy Stewart (Mel,) and Kate Beebe (Rob) and a large family of nieces/nephews and their children, as well as his first wife Dolores Ford (nee Rocco).

Jim was a lifelong sports enthusiast, and in addition to his favorite game of golf he enjoyed skiing, race car driving, curling, pool and pinball. He was a lifetime fan of the University of Michigan and enjoyed watching all Michigan sports. Jim worked for the J L Hudson Company in the interior design field for many years before owning and operating his own custom picture framing companies (Quality Picture frame Company and Frames and Framing.) He had an artistic eye that he was modest about, and he and his talented staff created many beautiful works of art for customers and family over the years. After retirement, he moved to Florida with his second wife, Joy Ford, and then returned to Michigan a few years ago. Jim was universally known for his kind and supportive nature and his occasionally wry sense of humor. He loved his family and often told humorous stories about his adventures with his siblings as they grew up, and always went the extra mile to be at his grandchildren's' important life events.

Jim's children are deeply grateful to his caregivers that provided him sustenance, comfort and companionship over the years: Deb, Goldine, Ernestine, Jessie, Simone, Kylie, Sarah, and all the wonderful people at Angel's Care, Wellbridge of Pinckney and St. Croix Hospice.
