James Richard Frank, age 90, earned his wings on November 17 th, 2025, at Springfield, MO. Jim was born to Albert Frank and Eva Frank on December 16 th, 1934 in Poplar Bluff, MO, and graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1952. He enlisted into the US Air Force, where he had a distinguished career as a pilot. He was twice awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and received ten Air Medals for his heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight. His decorations also include the Meritorious Service Medal and multiple Vietnam service medals, among many other commendations earned over his career. Jim graduated magna cum laude from Saint Edward's University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Jim was united in marriage to Sylvia Frank, and they were blessed with 3 children (James Richard Frank Jr., John Stephen Frank, and Jeffrey Bryan Frank). They were happily married until her passing in 1998.

Jim married Mary Lou Burrows on November 21 st, 1998. They enjoyed 25 years of marriage until her passing on October 25 th, 2024.

Jim's legacy is one of faithfulness, service, and bravery. He was well known for his warm smile and keen sense of humor.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Albert Frank; mother, Eva Frank; wives, Sylvia Frank and Mary Lou Frank; and son, James Frank Jr. He is survived by his sons Steve Frank and Jeff Frank, his step-daughters Corbi Beshears and Beth Bennett, step-grand-children Chris McNeal (and her husband James McNeal), Jennifer Brady, Aaron Bennett (and his wife Sarah Bennett), Samantha Jackson (and her husband Matty Jackson), and numerous step-great grandchildren and family members.

A visitation for Jim will be held on Thursday, November 20 th from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, Missouri. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 21 st at 9:00 AM, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jim's memory to Folds of Honor.

Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
