James Funk Obituary
Jim was a 1969 graduate of Solanco High School, where he excelled in wrestling and football. He was a self-employed stone mason for many years. Jim loved to work with his hands and was known for his strong work ethic. He enjoyed watching the Steelers and was a fan of Penn State wrestling and football.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by 3 children: Casey, wife of A. Dale Herr, Jr., Kerry Funk, wife of Chad Morgan, and Tom, husband of Melissa Funk. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Kate Herr, and Grace Herr, wife of Austin Wagners; Dawson Hilditch, Mackenzie Hilditch, Ella Funk, Cooper Funk and siblings, Joe, Mary Ellen, Holly, Charles, Fred, and Ed. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Funk.
A service celebrating Jim's life will take place at Memorial Church, 101 S. Hess St., Quarryville, PA on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Blake Deibler officiating. The family will greet friends at the church from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Solanco Wrestling Association, 17 Green Lane, Nottingham, Pennsylvania 19362

I am sorry for your loss. I worked with Jim and his dad between 1976-1980. I was also in vo-tec with Tom. I was a bricklayer for 38 years. Doug Johns.
