James "Bo" Gaines
James Peter "Bo" Boroughs Gaines, age 38, of Greenville, passed away on January 14, 2026.
He was born on October 23, 1987 in Greenville, South Carolina. Bo attended Easley High School and enjoyed working at the New York Butcher Shoppe in Greenville. In his free time, Bo enjoyed creating art in many forms such as music, film, and painting. He played the guitar and the bass. Bo was a laid back, creative, talented person who loved to express himself through music.
James is survived by his father Weldon Marlow; his brother Benjamin Gaines (Brittney); his nephew Denver Thomas Marlow; his grandmother Thelma Boroughs Gaines; his aunt Robin Gaines (David Maziarz); and his cousins Harper, Lachlan, and Julia Maziarz.
He was predeceased by his mother, Theresa Gaines Marlow; his grandfather, Denver "Skeet" Parcell Gaines; and his cousin, Lauren Maziarz.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Greenville Humane Society.
