James “Sam” Robert Gainey, age 82 of Randleman, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Asheboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Sam was born on August 7, 1943 in Cheraw, SC to John Henry Gainey and Gladys Ingram. Sam was an avid fisherman and an electrician by trade. He worked as an electrician for Marsh Furniture in High Point. Sam was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam war. Sam was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. When able, he enjoyed attending church at Liberty Road Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by his grandson, John Robert Gainey, Jr.; and his sister, Janice Kiser.
Sam is survived by his four children, Robin Gainey Hill of High Point, Christy Gainey (Shannon) of Asheboro, Renee Gainey of Asheboro, and John Gainey (Ashley) of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sam’s honor to Liberty Road Baptist Church, 2179 WOW Rd., Randleman, NC 27317.
