James Gallops Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton on Dec. 6, 2025.
James "Jim" Calvin Gallops Jr.

1949 - 2025

Jim went home to be with Jesus November 29, 2025. He was born December 7, 1949, to James "Calvin" Gallops, Sr. and Edna Mae (Peterson) Gallops in Pensacola.

Jim leaves behind his wife, Judy (Nettles) Gallops of 52 years; a son, James "Jay" Gallops, III; a daughter, Julie Utley (Jeff); his dearly beloved grandchildren: Andrew, Lauren, Evalyn, and Russell; his sister, Doreen Brewton (Eddie); and many relatives and friends who were family, too.

Jim loved the Lord and served as an elder at Calvary Bible Fellowship. Jim looked for every opportunity he could to serve others from traveling to other countries to rewire electricity to churches, to replacing roofs, and in his final years he cut a lot of grass and grew an incredible amount of tomatoes to share. He found joy in doing for others what they were struggling to do for themselves. He enjoyed finding a quiet seat and just talking and encouraging those around him.

Those who knew Jim knew his quiet spirit, gentle heart, and Godly wisdom that flowed easily; they also knew his quick wit and smile that was hard to catch in pictures. We have been extraordinarily blessed to have known and been loved by him. We will be celebrating his life at 1:00 p.m. on December 6, 2025, at Calvary Bible Fellowship, 10460 Motley Court, Pensacola.

In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to some of his favorite missions:

Mark and Babe Smith of NAIM ministries project 882 www.naim.ca, The Pruett's of Peru through www.GlobalFaith.net, and Loaves and Fishes Soup kitchen in Pensacola www.loavesandfishessoupkitchen.org.

The one thing that was most important to Jim and he would want for you to know:

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." Acts 16:31

And then follow Him, Jesus, all the days of your life.
