In loving memory of Jim (Jimmy) Garbaczewski.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Garbaczewski, co-owner of Chesdan's restaurant. Jim passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 1st, 2023. He was born into a family of restaurateurs, and it was only natural that he would follow in his father and uncles' footsteps. In the early 1980s, Jim with his brother Dan, took ownership of the Chesdan's restaurant, succeeding his father and uncles.
Jim was passionate about cooking and creating new dishes, and shared his love for food with everyone who walked through the doors of the restaurant. He provided countless people their first job and took great pride in watching his employees grow and develop.
Outside of the restaurant, Jim was an avid Hot Wheels collector and an important member of the Hot Wheels community. His knowledge of the hobby was unparalleled, and he was always willing to share his wisdom with anyone.
He was jovial and easy-going and had an incredible sense of humor with an infectious laugh to match. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created. Rest in peace, Jim Garbaczewski. You are missed.
Jim is survived by his wife, Angenene. He was a proud and loving father to his son James and his wife Mariam, daughter Teage and her husband Eric and daughter Scout and her husband David. Jim is also survived by his brother Dan and his wife Dawn, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
