James Lee "Jim" Garrett Jr.

James Lee Garrett Jr. (Jim), died on June 8, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born February 28, 1958 in Tulsa, OK to father, James Lee Garrett Sr. and mother, Vanda Jean Garrett. He fell in love with Sara Thornbrue in Moore, OK and they married on September 18, 1987. When they married, Sara brought to the family a beautiful little girl, Tara. They welcomed a baby boy, James Lee Garrett III (Levi) to the family in 1988, then, in 1991 they were pleasantly surprised to welcome another son, Jake. Jim and Sara started their family in Moore, then moved to Tuttle in 1992, where they have been ever since. He began working in construction shortly after high school with his Papa Beets. He enjoyed construction for over 26 years until he was able to fulfil his dream of starting his own business, Natural Look Water Features, in 2002. Jim loved fishing, building waterfalls, gardening and landscaping, camping with Sara and the kids, going to the mountains, and riding his Harley. He loved animals of all sizes, especially his Jack Russell's: Harley, Chester, and Kate. More than anything he loved spoiling his two grandsons, Jameson and Lincoln. Jim lived life to the fullest and never did anything halfway. He did his work with absolute excellence, never cutting corners. He left behind a very proud wife, dad, sister, kids, and grandkids.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Vanda Jean.
He is survived by his wife, Sara of Tuttle, Oklahoma; his daughter, Tara (and her husband Chris); his son, Levi (and his wife Kendra); his son, Jake (and his wife Courtney); his grandsons, Jameson and Lincoln; his dad, Jim Sr. (and his wife Louise); his sister, Cindy; and many other family members and lifelong friends.
Viewing will begin at 11am at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home in Bethany with family present from 6-8pm on Sunday, June 12. There will be a second viewing beginning at 11am at Tuttle First Baptist Church with family present from 6-8pm on Monday, June 13. We will celebrate Jim's life on Tuesday, June 14 at 10am at Tuttle First Baptist Church with interment at Anadarko Memory Lane Cemetery at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the COPD Foundation.
