James Larry Gilbert, age 79 of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024 in a Hot Springs hospital surrounded by family. He was born on December 15, 1944 in the Mt. Carmel Community to the late Robert Windell Gilbert and Marie Louise Eudy Gilbert.
Mr. Gilbert was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church near Dierks. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam era. He loved hunting, fishing, and, above all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he proceeded in death by his wife, Judith Ann Richardson Gilbert, as well as three brothers J.W., Levon and Dwayne Gilbert.
Survivors include his two sons Scott (Tammy) Gilbert of Lockesburg and James (Crista) Gilbert of De Queen; two brothers Ronnie Gilbert and Richard (Darlene) Gilbert; one sister Missy (Terrell) Shepherd; two grandchildren Marley Lowrey and Daniel Gilbert, both of De Queen; two great-grandchildren Hudson and Ila Lowrey; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church near Dierks with Bro. Calvin Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Sunshine Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
