James Jeffrey Gilstrap "Jeff", age 75, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on April 16, 2022.
Jeff was born in Greenville, SC and grew up in Pensacola, FL. He was a graduate of The University of Florida, and after graduation, Jeff served in the U.S. Army stationed with the Comptroller of the 8th Army in South Korea. Jeff began his career in public accounting as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) where he met his loving wife, Suzanne Thauer Gilstrap. Later in his career, Jeff was a senior financial executive at several major Jacksonville-based corporations.
Jeff and Suzanne were married for 46 years and have a loving and happy family.
In addition to his spouse, Jeff is survived by three sons: Brian (Vivian) of Vancouver WA, Patrick (Jessica) of Salt Lake City UT, and Matthew (Lindsay) of Neptune Beach FL.
In addition to being a great Dad, Jeff was an amazing "Papa" to grandchildren: Rhett, Eliza and Jason, and two more on the way. Jeff is also survived by a sister Mary and an Aunt Betty.
The family will be having a private service to remember Jeff.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to a charity of your choice.
