In Loving Memory of James Hay Glasgow
April 27, 1946 – September 13, 2025

James Hay Glasgow known to friends and family as "Jay," passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on September 13, 2025. Jay was born on April 27, 1946 to the late James and Marion Glasgow in Denville, New Jersey. Jay spent most of his life along the Jersey Shore, a place he dearly loved and called home. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. Jay also served proudly in the Marine Corps.

Jay grew up in Lavallette, New Jersey, where he developed a lifelong connection to the ocean and the outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, Jay found joy in hunting, fishing, skiing, and surfing. Whether it was lifeguarding as a teenager, riding waves in the summer or skiing slopes in the winter, Jay was always seeking out adventure in nature.

Professionally, Jay had a long and successful career as an executive in the concrete industry, earning the respect of colleagues and peers for his dedication and leadership.

Jay is predeceased by his loving parents, James and Marion Glasgow. He is survived by his former wife of 30 years and very close friend, Traci Lynne Glasgow, who remained by his side through life's many seasons. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Adam Glasgow of Toms River, New Jersey; Paige O'Quinn and her husband Chris of Marietta, Georgia; and Brooke Arnold and her husband Kevin of Island Heights, New Jersey. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Kasey Arnold, Kolby Arnold, Kaleigh O'Quinn, Avery O'Quinn, and Addison Blumenthal- Glasgow and his two sisters, Cheri Jackob of Brick, New Jersey and Nina Clinton of Lavallette, New Jersey.

He will be remembered for his deep love of the Jersey Shore, his adventurous spirit, and the lasting bonds he shared with family and friends. Though James has left this world, the love he gave and the memories he made will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

A celebration of Jay's life will be held at a later date with close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend quality time outdoors with your loved ones in Jay's honor.
