Patricia DeRisi Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals - Toms River at St. Catherine Blvd. on Jan. 21, 2026.
Patricia A. DeRisi (nee Turner), 89, of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, she lived in Sewaren, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. 25 years ago.

She was a Registered Nurse who had a long and varied nursing career that spanned 55 years, her last held position being Director of Quality Care for Beverly Enterprises in New Jersey. She was a proud member of The Red Hat Society. She was a driver for Caregivers for 16 years, and also a former member of the Berkeley Township First Aid Squad. She was also a former Elks member.

Patricia's biggest joy was her children, grandchildren and newly born great grandchildren. She adored spending time with them, and had many fond memories of holidays, going to the many sporting events of her grandchildren, going to the beach and family barbeques. Patricia was a very active and loving parent. She spent many years as a softball coach for her girls, was always there for her family, and enjoyed many vacations and happy family times with all her children. She is and will always be Nana and Super Nana to all her family.

Patricia was a parishioner of St. Maximillian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp., and volunteered there for many years.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Patrick J. DeRisi, Jr. in 2008, happily married for more than 50 years at his passing. They had many interests in common that brought them great joy, including dancing. We will always have fond memories of them taking over the dance floor.

Patricia is survived by her five children, Patricia M. DeRisi of Lakewood, NJ, P.J. DeRisi and his wife Tammy of Allentown, NJ, Colette Maruschak and her husband Stephen of Edison, NJ, Bernadette Kretzmer and her husband Robert of Brick, NJ and Mary Jo Charterina and her husband Joseph of Brick, NJ, nine grandchildren, Ryan, Anthony, Kaitlyn, Casey, Bobby, Stephen, Matthew, Kyle and Christopher, and five great grandchildren, Dean, Jack, Rylee, Cali and Skylar.

The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, January 29, 2026 4:00pm - 8:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, January 30, 2026 10:00 am at St. Maximillian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp. Burial to follow at the BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com.
