James Goff Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Jane Gorin Goff and Delmer L. Goff; his brother, Larry Goff, with whom he shared a close bond; and his first wife, Sandra Florio Goff.
He is survived by his current wife of 23 years, Sandra Willis Goff; stepdaughter Janet Meeks (Cliff); stepson Randy Willis; grandchildren Shelby Guy VonLinger (Luke), Travis Guy (Morgan), and Karlee Willis; great-grandson Henry VonLinger; one niece and one nephew; and his beloved dogs, Abigail and JC.
A Vietnam Era veteran of the United States Air Force, Jim lived a quiet life rooted in love, loyalty, and simple joys. To his grandchildren, he was lovingly known as "Grandpa Sharkey," a name that always brought a smile. He never met a stranger and was happiest on his farm in Scottsville, KY, surrounded by the animals he cared for and the land he loved.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, including Jacqueline, Julie, Ann, and especially Denitra, as well as his caregiver, Sherria, for their kindness and compassionate care.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
