James "Jim" Green, age 80, passed away peacefully in his home in Ramsey on September 24, 2025.

Jim was born on May 14, 1945 and grew up in North Minneapolis. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1964.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Violet Green; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mary; his children Andrew Green, Tanya (Michael) Altimari, and their mother Sharon Smith; step-children Tynna (Michael) Hieb, David (Kara) Schafer; grandchildren Michael, Nicholas, Briell (Travis), Brittany (Dustin), Steven, Brandon, Riley (Christian), Jakson; great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Amira, Chelsea, Oakley; and many cherished relatives and friends.

From his early teenage years to the day he left this earth, he had a passion for automobiles. He was a lifetime member of the Minnesota Street Rod Association, the West Central Chief Safety Inspector for the National Street Rod Association, the President of the Universals Car Club, and a member of the Gopher State Timing Association.

Jim was a truck driver for over 35 years and gave his time volunteering and participating in numerous car events. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and strangers alike.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Allina Hospice team for their compassion and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Central Park of Maple Grove Pavilion, 12000 Central Park Way, Maple Grove, MN 55369.
