James "Jim" Gregory Obituary
Mr. James Edward "Jim" Gregory, Jr. widower of JoAnne Harris Gregory, passed away, Friday, June 21, 2024. He was born in Union, SC, July 24, 1939 and was the son of James E., Sr., and Maude Gregory. Mr. Gregory was a graduate of Union High School, Clemson University, and a member of Friendship Baptist Church Pauline, SC where he served as a Sunday School Teacher for a number of years.
After several ventures into the business world, he found his calling by becoming a taxidermist (he loved deer hunting and fishing). Mr. Gregory received many awards and trophies and was well known throughout the south for his taxidermy work.
He is survived by a great nephew, that was reared in his home, Brandon Seay and wife Allie. Also, surviving are nieces, LuAnn Harris, Kelli H. Mesardjian, Renee H. Seay, Amy H. Bradshaw, Lisa G. Medlock, Susan G. Nichols, and nephew, Gerald Gregory. Several other great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday June 24, 2024, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church, Pauline, SC. Services will follow at Friendship Baptist Church at 2:00 PM.
Committal services will be held at 4:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church, Union, SC.
Active pallbearers will be Cassius Jeter, Larry Bishop, Mark Hembree, Nick Sexton, Larry Walker, and Stanley James.
Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1835 Tinker Creek Road, Union, SC 29379 or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family is at their respective homes.
