James J. Grimaldi Jr.

James John Grimaldi Jr. Passed away early in the hours of Wednesday, January 17. He was born on May 3rd, 1961 and raised in Westfield, MA on Fritz Avenue by his Father James Grimaldi and his Mother Arlene Grimaldi along with his older Brother Nick and his Younger Sister Susan Zak (Francis). He began working for Westfield Public Schools in 1984 as a Custodian and he would go on to have a 39-year career at the school. He is remembered as being a hard worker, and someone who built many friendships with students and staff alike. He is survived by his two sons James Grimaldi III and Timothy Grimaldi. He also leaves his nephews Zachery and Leland. Through his life his faith in God had been a defining aspect of his personality, and he is remembered for being non-judgmental and open-minded. He will always be remembered for his love of sports (especially Boston sports) and his love of statistics and history. Family and friends will always remember his sense of humor, kind soul, and how he would help any who were in need. Of the many friends he leaves behind, his closest friend was Nate Gaido who had an 18-year friendship with him, and who would have continued to be "travel buddies" together if not for the illness that took him from this world.
