James Arnold Groleau Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving children, on Monday, November 17th, 2025, at Cedarburg Health Services in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
Jim was born on August 3, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Irving and Lorraine (Wilken) Groleau. He proudly attended the Lynde and Harry Bradley Technology and Trade School in Milwaukee, "Boys Tech" where he played football and built lifelong memories. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on November 1, 1961, becoming a proud Vietnam Veteran.
Jim was known for his kindness. He was loving to everyone he met, but above all, he was devoted to his family. Raising his three children and giving them a childhood full of adventure was his greatest joy. Together they traveled across Wisconsin. Fishing their way through the Dells and venturing to places like Mackinac Island, Fort Jackson to support his daughter Ashley in the military, and the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Jim had a big heart and an even bigger personality. Being surrounded by family was his top priority, and the stories he shared will live on as treasured reminders of his humor and warmth. He passed down his love of racing, proudly supporting his son-in-law Todd, at the Slinger Speedway and attending IndyCar races at the Milwaukee Mile with his daughter Crystal and his son
Jimmy. He had a gift for words, a natural charisma, and a playful spirit that brought out the goofy side of everyone he encountered. In his younger years, he was undeniably charming and quite the ladies' man all the way to the end.
A lifelong football fan after his own glory days on the field at Boys Tech, Jim never missed a Packers or Northwestern game. Even if that meant not rooting for the Badgers.
Jim is survived by his children: Crystal Wold, Ashley (Todd) Buckley, and Jimmy (Samantha) Groleau; his grandchildren Levi, Jayden (Eric) Brown, Brayden, Payton, and Liam; and great-grandchild Renley.
He is preceded in death by his loving partner of over 25 years, Sandy Tscharnack; his parents Irving and Lorraine; and his siblings Leroy, Harvey, and Doreen. He is also reunited with many other beloved family and friends who passed before him.
Memorial donations in Jim's name may be made to his family.
