James Douglas Hage Sr.

James Douglas Hage, Sr. of Sylva NC, passed away peacefully Saturday April 15, 2023, at the Solace Hospice Center in Asheville NC, after a period of declining health.
Jim was born in Brooklyn NY, and moved with his family to Miami, FL as a teenager, In later years he moved to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. He retired from Sysco Food Service of Charlotte and was loved by all of his customers. Jim never met a stranger. He loved football (Miami Dolphins) and coached little league football. His goal was to pray before the game and let every child play the game. Jim was a member and Deacon of Scotts Creek Baptist Church. He was always active in church and loved going on Mission trips.
Left to cherish his sweet memories are his loving wife and best friend, Debbie Keener Hage of the home; three sons, Joseph Hage of Cleveland Ga., James Hage Jr and John Hage of Jensen Beach Florida; one daughter, Joan Hage of Jensen Beach Florida; four grandchildren, Alex, Bianca, Ryan and Anthony; and three great-grandchildren Madison, AJ, and Giada.
The Family will receive friends from 12:00PM-2:00PM at Scott's Creek Baptist Church, Sylva, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00PM, with Rev. J.D. Grant, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Sylva NC.
