James Hamersly Obituary
He was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Birch) Hamersly. Jimmy served in the army as a chauffeur under the presidential cabinet. He then was a long time steel truck driver for Kenneth Schuck trucking. He hauled a lot of loads over the years and one of his favorite deliveries was hauling portions of Dorney Parks popular roller coaster "Hydra" during its inception. He referred to it as "The Green One".
He was an avid book and health connoisseur and was always teaching his family his newest holistic medicine findings. He also loved history and researching his favorite interesting people. One of his favorite people included strongman, Joe Greenstein "The Mighty Atom".
He was a kid at heart and loved collecting children's toys and nick nacks. When he wasn't trucking, he enjoyed scavenging local flea markets for new finds and new friends.
He was survived by his sister, Deborah Devall of TN, his sister-in-law Darlene Hamersly, his niece Lori and her daughter Kayleigh Hamersly of PA as well as additional nieces and nephews and their extended families.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Hamersly of PA, William Hamersly of PA, and his sisters Jean Glass of NJ, Margaret Kratzer of FL, Ethel Easterday of PA and Maida Merkle of FL.
Private grave side services will be held by his close family at Jimmy's wishes. Memorial donations may be made to Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St Allentown, PA 18102 to help defray the cost.

Jimmy enjoyed life! Reading about health, physical fitness, taking care of himself and telling others how to do the same. He took pride in driving truck with Kenny Schuck, Alpo, and even the presidential cabinet during his service in the army. He loved screaming at the TV with his best friend and late brother Billy, rooting on all the philadelphia teams. He was a very private person, but was dedicated to the ones he held close. We will miss you Jimmy.
