James W. Hamilton, "known to all as Chicken", 74, of Baltic, passed away on Friday October 11, 2024 unexpectedly at his home.
He was born in Coshocton on November 18, 1949 to the late Jack and Viola (Middaugh) Hamilton and on April 13, 1969 he married Roberta A. Stein. She died on December 27, 1998.

He enjoyed both golfing in league and with his family and friends, watching all types of sports; especially The Ohio State sports. He may be best known for his love of sitting on his front porch waving to everyone passing by and riding around on his scooter.
He is survived by his daughter, Jill Hamilton of Baltic; son, Tom (Elizabeth) Hamilton of Canton; granddaughter, Cordelia Hamilton of Canton, whom was his pride and joy; sister, Kay Wright of Stoutsville, OH; brothers, Gary Hamilton of Coshocton and Bob (Pam) Hamilton of West Lafayette; mother-in-law, Bonnie Stein of Baltic; sister-in-law Debbie Myers of Strasburg; and brother-in-law Ward "Fritz" Stein, Jr. of Baltic.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother Ray Hamilton.
In keeping with Jim's wishes cremation will take place. Friends and family are invited to an informal gathering on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 2-4 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek. There will be no formal services held. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Baltic at the convenience of the family.
