Robert Hamilton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dale Woodward Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - Daytona Beach on Mar. 9, 2026.
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Hamilton, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Robert passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 7, 1958, in Munich, Germany, to Donald and Elinor Hamilton, Rob's life was a testament to resilience, love, and dedication.

Rob was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and his brother, Chuck. He leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply: his devoted wife, Sherry; his loving daughter, Cheyenne; his stepson, Joshua, and wife, Tracy; and his treasured grandchildren, Madison and Zachary. He is also survived by his brothers, Mark, with wife Rebecca and children Aaron, Christopher, Andrew, Steven, Reece, Jacob, and grandson Jackson, and Donny, with wife Rhonda. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, integrity, and strength.

After a seven-year courtship, Rob and Sherry married on September 28, 2019, embarking on a journey of mutual respect and profound love. Their blended family was a source of immense joy, as they navigated life's challenges and celebrations together, cherishing every moment shared.

Rob dedicated 32 remarkable years as a lineman and retired as a respected line foreman in 2021. His colleagues in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) admired Rob for his strong moral character, impeccable work ethic, and meticulous attention to detail. He took great pride in mentoring others, ensuring his legacy of excellence would continue to illuminate the lives of those who followed in his footsteps.

A man of many passions, Rob was an avid outdoorsman, finding solace and adventure in hunting and fishing. He loved nothing more than being on the water, basking in the beauty of nature. Known for his hospitality, Rob often gathered friends and neighbors for lively barbecues, where his warmth and charisma shone brightly. He was a force to be reckoned with, known for his boldness, honesty, and at times, unfiltered nature. With the gift of gab, Rob never met a stranger and nurtured long-lasting friendships wherever he went.

Rob's meticulous care for his vehicles was a perfect metaphor for his approach to life. He believed in the beauty of attention to detail, the reward of diligent work, and the joy of sharing his passions with those he loved. Just as he ensured every car gleamed, he polished every aspect of his life with pride, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

A service to honor Rob's life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Dale Woodward Funeral Homes, located at 167 Ridgewood Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Fallen Linemen Foundation, a cause close to Rob's heart, at https://fallenlinemenfoundation.com/

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at UF Health Heart & Vascular Hospital in Gainesville, FL, for their exceptional care and support during Rob's final days.

In remembering Rob, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart well-loved, and a legacy of kindness, courage, and unwavering devotion. He will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
