James Carl Harris

James Carl Harris, age 81, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at Shepherd's Cove Hospice. Mr. Harris was a devoted member of Dixie Street Baptist Church. One of the greatest joys of his life was being saved at the age of 65 and having his mother there to witness his baptism. His faith remained a source of comfort and strength throughout his life. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid fan of Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. A true oldie-music enthusiast, he especially enjoyed listening to Buddy Holly and Hank Williams Sr. He also had a passion for gardening, which brought him peace and happiness. He is survived by his children, Carla Harris, Amy (Chris) McGuire, and Eric Harris; grandchildren, Courtney "Brett" Hooper, Christopher John McGuire II, Corey Cale Hooper, Elijah Tate McGuire, and Noah Rane McGuire; siblings, Eloise Hatley, Ceretha "Nancy" (Gerald) Gary, and Tina Jordan; cousin and best friend, Tony Cassels; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beadie Gail Tucker Harris, and his parents, C.W. and I.B. Harris. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Little Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, September 25, 2025, from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Shepherd's Cove Hospice and Marshall Medical Home Care for the outstanding care and compassion shown during this time.
