He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Lansford Hassett of Vincent; and one granddaughter: Layton Stallings of Sylacauga.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Dalton and Shirley Hassett; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edward (Ted) and Nina Lansford; and his son: Jeffery Hassett.
Jimmy graduated from Vincent High School in 1960. He enjoyed fishing with his buddies and had a fondness for antique cars. He loved his family, his friends, and Auburn football.
Jimmy was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Vincent for an impressive 62 years. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Vincent. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Rev. Darryl Wood and Rev. Robbie Weems are presiding and Bolton Funeral Home is directing. He will be laid to rest at Vincent City Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome, or a donation can be made to the Music Committee of the First Baptist Church of Vincent.
