James W. Heasley

James 'Jimmy' W. Heasley, age 65, of New Castle, PA, received his angel wings the afternoon of Sept. 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Jan. 10, 1960, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Carolyn J. (Kelley) and Donald Edward Heasley.

Jimmy graduated from Walmo Education Center. He worked at Lark Workshop for 37 years before retiring in 2019. Jimmy was a Special Olympian winning gold medals in swimming, bowling, golf and bocci. He enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his parents and extended family. He loved country music and dancing, especially at the Rec Center. Jimmy loved being the waterboy for the Mahoning Valley Cobras in the 80s. Jimmy was a faithful member of Kings Chapel Church, where he worked as a dishwasher, served as an usher and Acolyte, and participated in the Drive Through Nativity every Christmas.

Jimmy is survived by his aunts, Debra Pauline, Mimi, Janet and Barb; his uncle Ed; and his cousins, Dan, Ryan, Chip, Artie, Dave, Tim, Shawn, Cheryl, Margie, Beth and their families.

The family would like to thank Jimmy's wonderful and caring nursing staff, Sonya and Jesse.

In addition to his parents Jimmy was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; uncles Dave, Frank, and Lloyd; aunts Cathy, Mary Jane, and Liz; and cousins Sherry, Frankie, Jim K., Jim T., Davey, Mike, Drew, and Tom.

Visitation will be held on Tues. Sept. 30th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation, at the funeral home, at 1:00 PM, with Jim's former Pastor Lola officiating.
