Dena Teresa Leshinsky

Dena Teresa LaMarco Leshinsky, 85, of Canton, OH, formerly of New Castle, passed away March 11 at The Inn at Belden Village in Canton.

Raised in the Mahoningtown neighborhood of New Castle, Dena was born on May 13, 1940, a daughter of Romeo and Margaret Santangelo LaMarco. They preceded her in death.

Dena married Steve N. Leshinsky on her birthday, May 13, 1967. Steve died on October 17, 2018, after 51 years of marriage.

Dena's greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter Ann-Margaret Lambo and her husband, Jamie, of Canton, OH and a son Matthew Leshinsky and his wife Kelly, of Port Charlotte, FL. Three grandchildren complete the family - Ann Therese Lambo and her fiancé Mitch Schall, of Pittsburgh, Paul Lambo and his fiancé Elizabeth Minut of Cleveland, OH, and Michael Leshinsky, Jr, of New Castle. At the time of her death, Dena was excitedly awaiting the birth of her fourth grandchild, which she fondly called Baby Leshinsky.

Dena is a 1958 graduate of New Castle High School. She had various jobs throughout her life including working with her mother at Columbus Cleaning Service. She also worked at Jameson Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, where she was a unit secretary until her retirement.

Dena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Michael Jude Leshinsky, a brother Romeo "Ronnie" LaMarco of New Castle and a sister Marlene Ballinger of Newport Beach, CA. Besides her children and grandchildren, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family beginning at 11:30 am – 1:00 PM on Monday, March 16th at R. Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Camillus de Lellis Parish at 1:30 PM. Internment will be at St. Vitus cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the City Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 965, New Castle, PA 16103-0965 or St. Jude Hospital at StJude.org, in Dena's memory.
