James Garland Heflebower, 76, of Charles Town, WV passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Hospice of the Panhandle in Patient Facility, Kearneysville, WV. James was born Oct. 27, 1948, in Ranson, WV. He was the son of the late H. Garland Heflebower, Jr. and Elsie Mae Cummings Heflebower. James was an Accountant for Abex in Winchester, VA, Pangborn in Hagerstown, MD, Kiddie, in Ranson, WV and Trex, in Winchester, VA. He graduated from Charles Town High School, class of 1966, Shepherd College, class of 1970, with a Degree in Financing. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. He received his MBA Degree from Mount Saint Mary's College. He was a 4-H All Star, member of the United Way of Jefferson County, Member of the Kiwanis Club, in Charles Town, WV, Loyal Order of Moose #948, Elks Lodge #684, in Frederick, MD and Coached for the Jefferson County Little League Baseball. He is survived by his son, Gregory J. Heflebower and wife Amy, of Rippon, WV; grandchildren, Howard G. Heflebower III, Clayton E. Heflebower, William G. Heflebower; sister, Patricia Ann Ott, of Rippon, WV; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Taylor Heflebower. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, in Ranson, WV with the Rev. Duane Jensen officiating. Interment in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Kearneysville, WV. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025 and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the funeral home. Memorial Donations may be made in his name to Jefferson County 4-H Foundation, 1329 Shepherd Grade Road, Shepherdstown, WV 25443. Please sign his online guestbook at www.mtstrider.com.
