James "Wyatt" Higgins passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2025. He was born in Burlington, NC on July 10, 2008.
Wyatt was an intelligent, quick-witted, and well-spoken young man. His funny and goofy nature made everyone around him laugh. Wyatt was very social and had a unique talent for lovingly but relentlessly roasting the people around him. He loved playing video games, hockey, and listening to music. You never knew what Wyatt was going to say or do next. All friends and family can agree that he was incredibly loving and it always gave him joy to gift things to others. When he was dropped off at school, he normally had his pockets loaded with candy and drinks for his friends. Wyatt had a big personality and his passing will leave a hole in the lives of anyone who knew him. Wyatt was a sweet boy with a depth of feeling beyond his years.
Wyatt is survived by his mother Betsy Chandler (Brad Martyna), father Chris Rollin (Samantha Benter), siblings Dylan Martyna, Julian Rollin, Tessa Martyna, grandparents Wayne and Annette Rollin and Bill Higgins, uncles and aunts Tyler and Sabrina Chandler, Laura Rollin, Gabriel and Lucia Higgins, as well as cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Wyatt was preceded in death by his father Nicholas Higgins and grandparents Janet Squires, Julian Chandler and Teresa Higgins.
A gathering to share memories will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St.
