James Lee Hill

MECCA-James Lee Hill, 90, of Mecca, Indiana passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He retired from R.R. Donnelley and Sons in Crawfordsville with many years of service.
He was born July 3, 1935, in Mecca, Indiana to the late Alexander Hill and Louise Funkhouser Hill.
His wife of 69 years, Sharon Yolanda Ball Hill whom he married May 21, 1955, preceded him in death March 2, 2025.
Survivors include his son, Joseph (Tammy) Hill of Mecca; his brothers, Ben Hill of St. Bernice, Ed Hill of Crawfordsville and Paul Hill of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren: Christi Hill, Melissa Lee, Nickolis Hill, Evan Hill, Adam Hill, and Aaron Hill; and nine great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
James was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Hill and Jerry Hill; brothers, Richard E., Max D, William H., John L., Hollis E., Robert W. Hill; sisters, Rebecca Miller, and Susan Cory.
He was a graduate of Mecca High School. He was an active and faithful member of Free Life Community Church Mecca Campus. He was an avid supporter of Riverton Parke High School sports supporting his grandchildren from the sidelines. He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Services will be 12 noon Tuesday, July 22, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville with Rev. Dr. Dan Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 12 noon Tuesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
