James A. Holloman of Princeton, affectionately known as "Cricket," passed away peacefully on August 14,2024, at the Caldwell Medical Center, surrounded by memories of a life well-lived. Born on March 15, 1945, in Caldwell County, he became a cherished member of his community and would go on to leave an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.

For 43 years, James dedicated himself to his role as Chief Engineer of tugboats, proudly employed by Ingram Barge. His unwavering commitment and skilled workmanship earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. Known for his rich sense of humor, he loved a good joke, and cherished moments filled with laughter, creating a legacy of joy that will stay with his loved ones.

James had a passion for fishing and an appreciation for hot rod cars, pursuits that brought him happiness and allowed him to bond with friends and family. His zest for life and adventure was contagious, inspiring those around him to embrace their own passions.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Lesa Stinnett (Andy) of Princeton, and extended family including his brother Wayne Holloman (Linda) of Indiana, and beloved grandchildren Greg Cornish and Ambie Cotton. He also cherished his great-grandchildren, Trace Cornish and Alesa Conger, whose bright spirits brought him immense joy.

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Julia Matthews Holloman, and his parents, Gene and Louise Holloman.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, both held at Goodman Funeral Home in Princeton, Kentucky with Bro. Jarry Merrick officiating.  Burial to follow at Dycusburg Cemetery.

As we remember James A. Holloman, let us celebrate the laughter he brought into our lives and honor a man whose legacy of love and joy will continue to shine through his family and friends.
