James Alfred Hott, 87, of Mount Savage, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Sterling Care Assisted Living.
Born June 12, 1937, to the late James E. and Elizabeth (Lewis) Hott. In addition to his parents he is preceded by his son, Darrin M. Hott.
James was a member of Mount Savage Methodist, Mt. Savage Fire Dept., Kemp Lodge #154, Mt. Savage and Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen LaRue (Martz) Hott; daughter, Tracy L. Carney and husband Mark; son, James Eric; grandchildren, Laureen Hott (Mt. Savage) Danielle Hott (Cumberland) siblings, Roy Hott, Dale Hott and wife Carolyn and Pam Kline; numerous niece, nephews and extended family.
Family and Friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4 to 7 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 2 pm, with Rev. Barry Winters officiating.
A special thank you to the community in which James cared so deeply for, Mount Savage, MD, will forever be remembered for the care and kindness presented to James. Also, a thank you to family, friends and the community of Mt. Savage for supporting his beloved son Darrin. Dad was so grateful and overwhelmed with the love that was shown to his family.
The family would also like to thank Mountainside Ministries and Pastor Barry Winters, Mt. Savage Ambulance crew, Sterling Care staff and the WMHS Hospice Foundation for their help and guidance.
