James Wellington "Jimmy" Howe, age 88, of Culpeper, Virginia passed away in the Culpeper Regional Hospital, Saturday, August 2, 2008.

Mr. Howe was born to James Russell Howe and Edna Lister Howe, January 8, 1920 in Nauwigewalk, New Brunswick (Canada); served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from Arwood Corporation as an inspector.

Surviving Mr. Howe is his wife, Arline Roberts Howe, of Culpeper, Virginia; his children, Bonnie L. Thompson and her husband, Robert, of Reston, Virginia, Russell W. Howe and his significant other, Frances Tuttle, of Rochester, New Hampshire and Linda H. Ryan, of Hillsboro, New Hampshire; his grandson, Andrew T. Thompson and his wife, Vanessa, of Round Hill, Virginia; his great-grand-children, Megan M. Thompson and Joshua R. Thompson, of Round Hill, Virginia; his brother, Kenneth Howe, of Whitman, Massachusetts and his sister, Edna Bezanson, of Tennessee.

Preceding Mr. Howe in death are his parents and a brother, Edward Howe.

Funeral services will be held in the Clore-English Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John S. Farrar conducting the service. Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 East Chandler Street, Culpeper, Virginia. The American Legion Post 330 and V.F. W. Post 2524 Honor Guards will provide military honors.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 5, 2008 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.

I will never forget Jimmy - he was a very likeable man. Paul and I enjoyed our breakfasts together at MacDonalds. The men would sit together talking about the Navy, etc. and the ladies would sit together and talk about their interests! He will be missed. Love, Millie Wieser
