James Vern Hueter

James Vern Hueter, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 81, in Lapeer, Michigan. Born on December 19, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee, Jim was a man who embraced the beauty of simple living.
Jim's life was spent with his wife, Sharon, whom he married on December 16, 1963, in Pontiac, Michigan. Together, they shared over sixty years of marriage.
In 1972, Jim fulfilled his dream by moving his family from the city of Pontiac to the serene countryside of North Branch, Michigan. He wanted his children to be raised in a safe and calm place. He built the family home with his own hands, where countless memories were made. Jim was particularly proud of this sanctuary, spending much of his time outdoors, tending to his property. He delighted in watching and feeding the birds, observing deer grazing from his apple trees, and enjoying the tranquility that came with living in the country.
Jim was a quiet yet passionate man, found pleasure in the simple things, and was content with the life he cultivated. He lived with gratitude, never needing the luxuries of life, and faced all circumstances with a calm demeanor. His steadfast beliefs guided him, and he found great satisfaction in the simplicity of his daily routines.
Educated with an associate degree in skilled trades, Jim dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career as a pipefitter at General Motors. His hands were skilled, and he took great pride in the work he did, retiring with a sense of accomplishment and integrity.
For many years, Jim was an active member of the Lapeer Church of Christ, where he served the congregation in various capacities. His faith was an integral part of his existence, and he continued to attend church faithfully until health challenges prevented him from walking.
Jim will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the gentleness he shared during his time on earth.
His gentle spirit, funny nature, and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. In honor of Jim's love for his children and his belief in the importance of faith, donations can be made to the Michigan Christian Youth Camp, supporting future generations in their spiritual journeys.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors in Lapeer, MI. There will be a private ceremony with family to celebrate his life and share cherished memories.
