J.B. Wilson age 88, of Athens, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens. A native of and lifelong resident of McMinn County, J.B. was the son of the late John Digger and Janie Mea Jamerson Wilson. He was a member of North Athens Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School superintendent, and a faithful bus ministry worker. He loved working in his yard, and was a talented woodcrafter. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Blana Sue Yarbrough Wilson (October 31, 2020), and his brother and sister-in-law, Maynard and Carolyn Wilson.
Survivors include two daughters; Julie Hubbard (Eddie) of Athens; Stacy Ghazi (Sassine) of Pheonix, Arizona; one son, Phil Wilson of Athens; five grandchildren, Kelsey Monroe, Emma Ghazi, Ellie Ghazi, Brett Hubbard and Kendell Hubbard; several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be 11 am Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Donnie Dalton officiaitng. Pallbearers will be Scott Yarbrough, Chris Yarbrough, Eddie Hubbard, and Brett Hubbard.
