Opelousas--A funeral service will be held for James "Jamie" Michael Bourque, II, on Wednesday July 23, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m., in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Ulysse Joubert will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Jamie, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on July 27, 1981. Jamie brought light to those around him with his warm and kind nature.
In his professional life, he enjoyed working with all people and always demonstrated a strong work ethic and was committed to providing for his family. His colleagues recognized him not just as a hardworking individual but also as a very nice person, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand.
Jamie had a profound love for cooking, which he often shared with friends and family, nurturing connections through food. Whether it was a simple meal or an elaborate feast, he took joy in the process and the company he kept. Alongside his culinary passion, Jamie cherished his time spent with his loyal dog, Chaos, enjoying the companionship and unconditional love that a pet brings.
Jamie is survived by his parents, James "Michael" Bourque, Sr. and Phyllis Lemoine Bourque, who reside in Port Barre. His legacy continues through his son, Cameron Bourque, and his daughter, Agnes Leigh Bourque, both of Opelousas. He also leaves behind the mother of his children, Alexis Lanclos, and his brother, Jonathan Bourque, along with his wife Ellie, living in Sedona, Arizona. His nephews, Louis and Luke, will always remember their time with their uncle fondly.
James Michael Bourque, II will be missed deeply by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His gentle spirit, caring heart, and love for his family and friends leave an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
