James Jenkins Obituary

James Carl Jenkins, 49, of Newark, died Friday, December 16, 2022, at the OSU Medical Center. He was born May 25, 1973, in Newark to James B. Jenkins and Phyllis Lee Fletcher/ Van Sickle.
James attended Licking Valley High School. He enjoyed attending church and Bible study groups. He enjoyed the outdoors, farming, and restaurants with buffets. He loved his pet cats.
He is survived by his daughter, Katelyn Jenkins; his mother, Phyllis Lee Van Sickle/ Jenkins; brothers, Marvin and Jimmy L. Jenkins; niece, Shyanna Lee Jenkins; aunt, Mary Fletcher; and uncle, Frank Luckydoo.
He was preceded in death by his father, James B. Jenkins; sister, Anita Lee Jenkins; paternal grandparents, James A. and Bernice Jenkins; and maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Ira Fletcher.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Wildlife Center, 6131 Cook Rd, Powell, OH 43065
Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark, where the funeral service will be Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00am. Burial will follow the service in Hanover Cemetery.
