James Edward Buck was born September 11, 1961, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Shennie and Janet Irene (Derby) Buck. He graduated from Highland High School in 1980 and attended Lincoln Technical Institute, studying diesel mechanics. He was most recently employed at Carquest in the parts department, retiring when his health declined. Jim enjoyed collecting different things, cooking for his family on Friday nights, and transporting his nephew and niece to various activities. In recent years, he enjoyed keeping up with family and friends through texting and FaceTime.
Survivors include his sister, Mary (Don) Berns; niece Amy Berns; nephew Eddie (Dabria) Berns; and great-nephew and nieces Easton, Josie, and Oakley, all of Ainsworth.
Preceding Jim in death were his parents, Shennie in 2009 and Jan in 2015.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the excellent care provided by the staff at the Parkview Home, by Dr. Prihoda, and to the Wayland and Ainsworth Fire Departments and Henry County Ambulance for faithfully responding to Jim’s needs. Your compassion and kindness will be remembered always.
