James “Jim” Joseph Koput, age 86 years, of Cascade was reunited with his late wife, Janice, on April 5, 2025.
Jim was born on October 9, 1938, in Waukesha to Joseph and Agatha Koput (Smerlinski). He was united in marriage to Janice Sook on August 16, 1958, at First Presbyterian Church in Waukesha.
Jim graduated from Waukesha High School in 1956. He worked at Briggs and Stratton and Globe Union as a Quality Control Engineer. Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and spending time with family.
Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his children, Kathy (Jeff) Kluender, Russ (Cindy) Koput, and Al (Lorinda) Koput; grandchildren, Joe Koput, Melissa (Logan) Armstrong, Elliana Koput, and Kevin (Sarah) Montoure; great-grandchildren, Canyon, Hudson, and Summit; and sister-in-law, Sally Witz. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; son, Ken (Sarah) Koput; and brother-in-law, Charles Witz.
VISITATION: Jim’s family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service – 1315 W Washington St. – West Bend, WI 53095.
A private family inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin.
Memorials in Jim’s name can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
The family would like to thank Jim and Jan’s angel neighbors, Chris and Kevin Tyler for their care and compassion throughout the years.
