James R. Kostroski, 84, Mosinee, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on July 23, 1941, a son of the late Ben and Josephine (Tuszkowski) Kostroski. He married Constance Suchomski, his soulmate, on July 20, 1963, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild.
He was a proud truck driver who found joy in the open road and the friendships made along the way. When he wasn’t working, he loved attending car shows, admiring the craftsmanship and stories behind each vehicle. Trips up north were a favorite escape, where he could relax and take in the simple pleasures of life. His interest in old tractors reflected his appreciation for tradition and hard work, always sparking conversations that connected generations. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his soulmate, Connie, who was the center of his world and his greatest joy.
Survivors include one son, Keith Kostroski, Wausau; siblings, Bernie (Gordie), LeRoy, Rita (Gary), Mary (Eugene), Donna (Al), and Debbie; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Connie, James was preceded in death by siblings, Marvin, Janice and JoAnne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Friday, September 19, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate.
