JAMES “JIM” DAVID REID, 64, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 4:54 pm, Monday, December 15, 2025 at his residence.
He was born to the late Robert “Bob” C. and Joan R. (nee Runge) Reid on September 2, 1961 in Oxnard, California.
Jim married Patricia “Patty” Haberberger on September 13, 1986; she survives.
He had owned and operated PJ Advertising with his wife. Jim had an entrepreneur spirit, owning and working with several businesses throughout his life. He also drove a school bus for the last two years.
Jim loved being outdoors, whether it was working in his yard or taking long, scenic drives. He was a family man who loved being with his grandchildren and had a special interest in geneology and family history. His hobbies included reading and beating his sons in chess. Jim had a gift for conversation and genuinely loved connecting with others, whether they were lifelong friends or people he had just met. He had a heart that wanted to be there for others.

It was James’ wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
